Under the theme “Portugal, a world in one country”, the Portugal Pavilion aims to convey Portugal's multiculturalism, the trajectory of Portuguese discoveries and its eternal connection with the sea.
The Pavilion has more than 1,800 square meters, with each space revealing unique elements that trace the identity and tradition of Portugal. The designs and geometries of the pavement, which covers the square's floor, transport visitors to Portuguese streets; Azulejo art shows the unmistakable Arab origins of hand-painted mosaics; and our world-famous cork is transformed into outdoor furniture and living areas as a perfect example of innovation.
The Pavilion is divided into two floors and four conceptual areas: 'Presentation', 'Reception', 'Experience' and 'Relationship'.
The ground floor is treated as an extension of the public space, introduces the theme of Portugal's participation and includes a show area, a small cafeteria, a protocol area and the Portugal Concept Store.
The first floor encloses the exhibition route, which is divided into an immersive multimedia show area, and an interactive area with contents subordinated to the themes of Sustainability, Opportunity and Diversity, embodying the country's positioning in these areas.
The second floor comprises the restaurant and terrace, with panoramic views of Jubilee Park, and a multipurpose space, which can take on different configurations, including a stage for intimate concerts.
